Culligan Water Conditioning was formed in 1965 by the Hebert family with the acquisition of the established Culligan Water Conditioning Company located in Gonzales within Southern Monterey County. At the time the company consisted of the owner, 2 employees and a customer base of 570. In 1971, the family saw the great potential this Franchise had and purchased the Culligan of Salinas dealership. In 1976, the company incorporated and became Quality Water Enterprises, Inc. DBA Culligan Water Conditioning.
From April 1978 through October 1980, the company purchased 3 more established Culligan franchises, covering all of Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties, and bringing its customer base to 6250. Then in 1994, Quality Water Enterprises acquired 2 competitive companies, Servisoft of Salinas and Servisoft of Monterey. In 2005, the company purchased Water Solutions & Water Source. Through acquisition and market growth, the company is the largest water conditioning company on the Central Coast Serving more than 14,000 customers.
Now operating solely out of Salinas, the company occupies an efficient and environmentally friendly plant, reclaiming 30-40% of Salt and Water and hauling over 13,000 gallons of brine to the Monterey Regional Water Quality reclaim plant every week.
Culligan and it’s employees have given back to the community over the years either through sponsorship, monetary contribution, or through active involvement. Some of which include, the California Rodeo, Salinas Spurs, all area high schools and sports programs, the American Cancer Society, Monterey County Sheriff’s Posse, Carmelite Monastery, Junior League of Monterey County, Meals on Wheels, Hartnell College Foundation, Indian Guides, Boy Scouts of America and the Sun Street YMCA.
Today, Culligan offers the highest quality water treatment products and equipment to the residents and businesses of Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties.
